Last week Mrs Hill and Mrs Williams led two very well-attended handwriting workshops for KS1 parents. During this, they shared the details of our school’s new handwriting programme: ‘LetterJoin’. They discussed the importance of developing children’s gross and fine motor skills to prepare them for the posture, core strength and muscle control needed for effective handwriting. They also shared the National Curriculum expectations for handwriting for each year group.
The children joined us to show off their writing and to try the LetterJoin activities on the iPads. Of course, there were treats to be eaten too!
