At Overchurch Infant school, we are committed to ensuring all children feel included, welcome and supported within our school, regardless of any additional needs or disabilities. The SENCO Mr. Newman, conducted a Provision Review to evaluate the strengths of our school following feedback from a range of stakeholders. This included input from children, parents, governors, teaching and non-teaching staff.
Here is some of our feedback:
Following this consultation process, the feedback was gathered and sorted into five key areas:
- Communication
- Physical Environment
- Relationships
- Promoting Independence
- Accessing The Curriculum
The aim of these 5 areas was to create a list of Quality First Teaching strategies which would allow staff to support all pupils in their class regardless of need. For more information about the list of strategies, please see our one page SEND policy.
It has also served to demonstrate the strengths of our school for supporting pupils with additional needs or disabilities, and also aims to ensure basic strategies are in place.
If you have any questions or would like more information about how the Provision Review was conducted, please contact Mr. Newman via the school office.
