In September 2020, all our classes returned to full-time education following the COVID-19 closure in March. Although we hope that the majority of our children will now have an uninterrupted experience, there is the possibility that an individual child, a class bubble, or indeed the whole school, will need to self-isolate for a period of time. We have therefore put in place a plan for remote learning so that all children can continue with their education.
This meets the expectations set out in the DfE guidance ‘Remote Education Support’
Thank you all for the support and understanding that you have shown us. The decision to close a class or year group within school is never taken lightly and only after following the advice of Public Health England and the Local Authority.
***January 2021 Update***
With the announcement of a national lockdown from 5th January, the vast majority of our children will now remain safely at home with only the children of critical workers and vulnerable children entering school.
As a school, we completely understand how inconvenient this period is but we can assure you that we will continue to offer all our children opportunities to continue their education.
*If your child is in Nursery or Reception, you will be able to access your child’s remote learning through Tapestry.
Online learning uploaded to tapestry will mirror class based learning in both Nursery and Reception. There will be challenges and activities set using a combination of videos, photographs and downloadable documents. Please use the resources flexibly to support home learning in a way that fits in with your individual routines and family circumstances. Tapestry enables interaction between home and school and staff will continue comment on any observations added by parents. Teachers love to see how you are accessing the resources at home and welcome posts celebrating any milestones or achievements.
*If your child is in Year One or Two, you can access your child’s remote learning through SeeSaw.
SeeSaw is now being used to allow productive communication and interaction between home and school. It will allow us to mirror the class based opportunities whilst maintaining the human level of interaction through photos, video and sound clips, as well as motivating comments, to any work submitted.
Please make school aware of any barriers to accessing our remote learning learning. 30gb sim cards are available from the office to help families – please phone the school office and arrange collection.
If a child does not have access to a computer, laptop, tablet and/or the internet, the school will do all it can to support children and will provide regular paper packs of learning available from the school office.
