We are delighted to share that Overchurch Infant School has been awarded the Bronze School Mental Health Award by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health in Schools.

The award recognises our whole-school commitment to promoting mental health and wellbeing for pupils, staff, and families. The assessor praised the school’s warm, inclusive atmosphere and noted that mental health is “embedded across all areas of school life.” Particular strengths included the use of emotionally literate language among pupils, strong parental engagement, and the transformation of the staff room into a welcoming, supportive space.
The report highlighted the dedication of school leaders, particularly Mrs Williams, and governors in making wellbeing a sustained priority, and commended events like Brilliant Balloons for breaking down barriers and bringing families into school in a positive and relaxed way.
We are extremely proud of this achievement and will continue to build on this important work, sharing good practice across the local community and beyond.
