In our History lessons, we have been learning about the importance of Remembrance Day. Early Years explored a poignant CBeebies video which explained why we use poppies as a symbol of remembrance. Year One have been reading the beautiful picture book ‘Where the Poppies Now Grow’ and explored how the soldiers in the wars may have felt. In Art, Year Two drew stunning charcoal pictures and weaved poppies with sticks and wool.

Year Two joined members of the Upton community for a two minute silence at the War Memorial in the village on November 11th. In History, they had learned the names and ages of our local soldiers who gave their lives for our country and they fell silent in their honour. We were so proud of their mature and respectful behaviour.
