On Friday 19th October we hosted a coffee morning to raise money for The Stroke Association and to raise awareness of childhood strokes. Thank you to all those parents who donated cakes and biscuits. It was extremely successful raising awareness and also raising £400.
If you missed out on the coffee morning, you can still donate to this great cause as a number of staff will be running in the Santa Dash later in the year.
This is a charity close to our heart at the moment as just before the Summer holidays, one of our children in Reception suffered a stroke. This was obviously devastating news for everyone but I’m pleased to write that after nine weeks of treatment in Alder Hey Hospital, Isla has shown great strength, determination and made a lot of progress.
This week she returned to school which is a remarkable testament to the wonderful team at Alder Hey Hospital, the strength of her family and the resilience of Isla herself.
